August 2009 NEWSLETTER Friends of German Culture Annual Picnic The board of directors of Friends of German Culture invited all its Members, Guests and Friends to our annual 2009 Picnic at the Monte Sano Club Pool on Monte Sano Mountain. Date: August 11, 2009 Time: 6 PM to 9:00 PM Location: Monte Sano Club Pool - Georgietta Drive, Huntsville, AL Catering: This year our PICNIC was again catered by the Redstone Arsenal Officers and Civilian Club courtesy of Mr. Robert Schumann-General Manager. Menu: There was an all you can eat buffet which featured the following entrées: German Sausages (Bratwurst and Knackwurst), Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad, Broetchen, Butter and Apple Strudel for dessert. Beverages consisted of Ice Tea and Water. Selected wines were available and sold at $1.00 per glass. Those who preferred to drink Beer or other beverages not provided by the caterer or the FoGC, were welcome to bring them to the function. Cost Per Person (same as last year): $17.00 (Children under 12 - $10.00). There was a $2.00 fee for Non Members of the Monte Sano Club of which $1.00 was included in the price and the other $1.00 was paid by the FOGC treasury. RSVP: Please send your check to: Gertrude Nein (FOGC Treasurer), at 1528 Chandler Road, Huntsville, Al 35801 and RSVP no later than August 8, 2008 at 881-2990 (caterer needs to know how much food to prepare). If your Friends of German Culture DUES were not paid for 2009 or earlier, please read your address label which indicates last year paid. If your dues are delinquent, include a check for your DUES to the Friends of German Culture (Students-$ 6.00, Single- $ 8.00, Couples $ 14.00, and Corporate-$ 15.00).
